Just For Beginners : SEO Writing Guide

SEO is Search Engine Optimization.  (or writing for SEO) is a special way of writing to get the attention of search engines by using certain words or phrases.

Usually we can call it writing by targeting keywords or key phrases to draw attention to the website from search engines.

But why is this important for websites?  A website needs to provide people with its content, services or products for what they are constantly looking for in search engines.

Because, website owners need people (traffic) to come to their site and engage with the content, services, or products, services they provide.

So they need search engines to direct people to their website by providing valuable content.  If you want to get started with SEO writing by starting a website or blog, there are certain things and areas you need to know.

Always good content and search engine-directed content will come out on top.  This will decide how people will interact with your website and how search engines refer to your website from targeted keywords or key phrases.

In this article, I will explain to you the important factors of SEO writing that I learned from my blogging journey from the start.

1. Select a keyword

This is the word or phrase you want your content to appear on the first page of search engine results.

It is important to do keyword research to choose SEO keywords.  It should be simple and something that people are looking for, actually has a chance of ranking higher in the search engines.

2. Write the Perfect Title

Titles are used to tell search engines and visitors what your page is and how it is valued.  You can write eye-catching titles to increase your click-through rate (CTR) from search engines.

However, you should try to extend your title to 50-60 characters.  But it should include a keyword or phrase at the beginning, which you focus on writing on.

3. Include Keywords in the URL

You have to optimize the permalink structure for SEO writing, which means your post URL should focus on your content and keep it short and SEO-Friendly.

If you use WordPress, you can set up your permalink structure from "General settings" and make it clean for your visitors.

Also, online safety is a must these days.  Make sure your site or blog is using an HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) connection.  Otherwise, you will have to purchase an SSL certificate for your website or blog.

You can contact your current hosting provider to purchase an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate.

4.Writing Including Keywords

Make sure to include your focus keyword in your first paragraph, at the beginning of the post.

Better to start your writing with an introduction to what you wrote entirely.  Apart from that, make sure to enter your keywords in the space below.  Title URL First paragraph Subheading (if applicable) Alt-tagging for images

5. Links to Other Posts

Internal linking is essential for informing about your website to search engines in SEO writing.  It creates a structure about your website, and visitors can easily navigate on your website,

visitors will spend more time on your website.  So you can link each post with link text to link between your related posts.

6. Get Links From Other Websites

We call them "Backlinks".  Backlinks are links from other websites that have linked to your website.  Backlinks to your website are a signal to search engines that other people trust your content.  That is why backlinks have a significant influence on website growth in search engine results.

Always the quality of the links is much more important than the quantity how many you are linked.  It must be natural and relevant to your content.
