Pickup Truck Sales Today-Still Climbing

Of course, the current economic situation has had an impact on pickup truck sales today, but maybe not in the way you may have thought. Full-size truck sales are still strong, but mid-size and smaller trucks sales have actually fallen off a bit. 

When gas is upwards of $4, or more, a gallon you would think that pickup truck sales today would be just the opposite; small and midsize truck sales would be higher than full-size trucks but one of the reasons this isn't the case is that some people just need a bigger truck and with advances in technology, the larger trucks can actually get pretty good gas mileage without losing any towing capacity. 

When it comes to choosing your pickup truck you have a lot of options, besides choosing the size: mid, small or full, you also can choose the type of drive, the size of the cabin, the size of the bed, the amount of towing capacity and the size of the engine. 

To get the most benefit you will want to combine the right combination of features. For example, if you want to be able to tow a large boat or trailer you will want a full-sized pickup truck with a large towing capacity which will most likely require a large V8 engine and possibly a 4 wheel drive. 

If you want to take the whole gang along on your trips to the lake, you will probably also want a large extended cab-style truck. 

If your truck will be strictly for work and you need to carry a lot of things, you may prefer to opt for a truck with fewer amenities inside and a bigger bed. A bigger V8 engine may also be a good idea so you can have all the power you need to load your truck up with whatever you need to load it up with. 

Many of the trucks on the market today are billed as being the same as a full-size office on wheels. You can get all types of technology in today's trucks both inside and out. The only limit may well be your budget. If you can afford it, you can get pretty much anything you could ever want or need in a new truck. 

Some people just need a truck, they need to be able to tow and/or haul things on a regular basis. There is a wide variety in the sizes and amenities of trucks today. Pickup truck sales today are better than you may have thought for many reasons. Even though gas prices seem to continually push the envelope upward, having a pickup truck can make many daily chores much easier. And with the advances in technology, they can actually get halfway decent gas mileage too.
